Four ways to make a difference

Whether you are a subject expert, a mentor, a college student, or a parent — there is a meaningful place for you in this community.

  • Those with limited subject expertise but big hearts
  • Parents of older students

Safety requirements for all volunteers

Every volunteer who works with students is held to strict safety standards. These are not optional — they protect students, families, and volunteers alike.

Background check required

All volunteers who interact directly with students must authorize and clear a background check before activation. No exceptions.

No private communication

All volunteer-student communication must occur within the platform. Texting, emailing, social media contact, and private messaging outside the portal are strictly prohibited.

Code of conduct agreement

Every volunteer must read, understand, and sign the Volunteer Code of Conduct before working with students.

Two references required

Applicants must submit two references who can speak to their character, reliability, and appropriateness to work with minors.

Safety orientation

All approved volunteers complete a safety orientation covering child safety policy, platform guidelines, and reporting procedures before their account is activated.

Mandatory reporting

All volunteers are required to report any observed or suspected inappropriate behavior immediately using the Safety Reporting form or by contacting the coordinator directly.
