A clear, supported journey from registration to real academic growth — step by step.
Every student follows this path — supported at every step by tutors, mentors, and parents.
A parent or guardian completes the student registration form online. The form collects basic student and family information, program interests, and emergency contact details. Registration takes under 5 minutes and is completely free.
Parents review and digitally sign the consent agreement during registration. This covers participation, privacy, volunteer interaction, online learning, and parent supervision expectations. All agreements are legally clear and written in plain language.
The program coordinator reviews the registration and activates the student account within 1–2 business days. Parents receive a notification when the account is approved and ready to use.
Based on grade level and program interest, students are placed in the appropriate Math and/or English learning track. Students may also complete an optional brief placement activity to help tutors understand their current skill level.
Students log in to their personal portal to access assignments, course notes, grades, and the Q&A board. The portal is accessible from any device — desktop, tablet, or mobile.
Tutors post weekly SBAC-aligned assignments in Math and/or English. Each assignment includes a description, due date, and week label. Students work through assignments at a consistent weekly pace to build strong study habits.
Students can post questions on the Q&A board at any time. Volunteer tutors respond with guidance, explanations, and encouragement. All communication is within the platform — private messaging outside the portal is not permitted.
Tutors review completed work, assign scores (0–100), and provide written feedback. Students see their grades in the My Grades section. Parents view the same information in their parent portal — full transparency at all times.
Coordinators and tutors regularly review student progress. Students who fall behind or miss multiple weeks without communication are checked in on personally. No student is left without support.
Students advance through their learning track, building skill and confidence over time. Milestone recognition, achievement badges, and certificates of completion are planned for future program phases.
Parents are active partners — not passive observers. Here is exactly what to expect and how to stay involved.
Parents complete the registration form on behalf of their child and sign all required consent agreements before the account is activated.
Parents are expected to be aware of and supervise their child's use of the platform, especially for students under 13. The parent portal gives full visibility into all activity.
The parent portal shows all assignments, grades, tutor feedback, and notes. Parents are encouraged to review progress regularly and discuss it with their child.
Consistent weekly participation is key. Parents play a vital role in helping students maintain their study schedule and complete assignments on time.
Any concern — academic or safety-related — should be reported to the program coordinator immediately through the Contact page or Safety Reporting form.
Your encouragement matters more than you know. Celebrate every improvement, every completed assignment, and every grade improvement — not just perfect scores.
Volunteers are the heart of LearnSpace. Here is how the process works from application to active contribution.
Complete the online volunteer application with your background, subject expertise, grade-level experience, and references.
Two references are contacted. All volunteers working directly with minors complete a background check. This is non-negotiable and protects everyone.
A brief conversation with the program coordinator to confirm fit, expectations, availability, and role assignment.
All volunteers complete a safety orientation covering child safety policy, communication rules, platform guidelines, and reporting procedures before activation.
Volunteer portal access is granted. Tutors can now post assignments, grade work, provide feedback, post notes, and respond to student questions on the Q&A board.
Volunteers are supported by the program coordinator and recognized for their contributions. All volunteer interactions within the platform are logged for accountability and child safety.
