Registration

Any student in Kindergarten through Grade 12 is welcome. A parent or guardian must complete the registration form and sign the consent agreement for any student under 18.

No. LearnSpace is completely free for all students and families. This program is offered as a community service through our church. There are no fees, subscriptions, or hidden costs — now or in the future.

Visit the Register page and complete the student registration form. You will need to provide your child's basic information, your contact information as a parent or guardian, an emergency contact, and select which programs your child is enrolling in. The process takes under 5 minutes.

Yes. Each child requires a separate registration form. Each student will receive their own login credentials and individual portal access.

The program coordinator reviews all registrations and activates accounts within 1–2 business days. You will receive a notification when your child's account is ready.

Participation

Assignments are posted weekly by volunteer tutors. The schedule may vary slightly by tutor and grade level, but students can generally expect new assignments each week.

Yes. Volunteer tutors review completed work, provide a score from 0–100, and include written feedback. Grades and feedback are visible to both students and parents through their respective portals.

LearnSpace offers two complete subject tracks: Mathematics and English Language Arts. Each subject includes multiple programs tailored to different grade levels, from kindergarten fundamentals through high school mastery — including SBAC preparation for the 2026–2027 exam.

We strongly encourage consistent weekly participation — consistency is the foundation of real academic growth. Students who miss multiple weeks without communication may be checked in on by their tutor. If your child needs a break, simply notify the program coordinator.

Yes. Students can enroll in one or both programs at any time. If your child wants to add a subject or change their enrollment, simply contact the program coordinator through the portal or the Contact page.

Parent responsibilities

Parents are expected to supervise their child's online participation, especially for students under 13. Parents should review their child's assignments and grades through the parent portal, encourage consistent weekly participation, and report any concerns to the program coordinator promptly.

Yes. Parents have access to a separate parent portal where they can view all assignments, grades, tutor feedback, and course notes. Full transparency is built into the program by design.

Contact the program coordinator immediately using the Contact page or the Safety Reporting form. All concerns are reviewed promptly and taken seriously. Safety concerns are prioritized and reviewed within 24 hours.

Online tutoring and learning

Students access their assignments through the student portal and post questions on the Q&A board. Volunteer tutors respond with explanations, guidance, and encouragement. Future program phases will include scheduled video tutoring sessions for additional support.

No. All communication between students and volunteers must occur within the platform. Private messaging, texting, emailing, and social media contact between students and volunteers is strictly prohibited. This policy exists to protect students, families, and volunteers.

LearnSpace is a supplemental enrichment program — it is not a substitute for school, licensed teachers, or professional tutoring services. If your child needs more intensive support, we encourage you to speak with their school counselor or explore additional professional resources. We are happy to provide guidance on available community resources.

Volunteer involvement

Church members, parents, college students, retired educators, and qualified community members are all welcome to apply. All volunteers must complete the application process, submit references, pass a background check, and complete a safety orientation before working with students.

Yes. A background check is required for every volunteer who interacts directly with students. This is non-negotiable and applies to all volunteer roles. The cost of the background check is covered by the program.

Even 1–2 hours per week makes a real difference. The time commitment varies by role — tutors typically spend a few hours each week posting assignments and grading work, while mentors and parent volunteers may contribute in more flexible ways. We work with your schedule.

Safety and privacy

All interactions occur within our monitored platform. Private communication between volunteers and students is strictly prohibited. Parents are expected to supervise their child's participation. All volunteers are screened, background-checked, and trained on child safety policies. Any concern can be reported at any time through the Safety Reporting form.

Only authorized program administrators and assigned volunteer tutors have access to student information. We do not sell, share, or distribute student data to any third party under any circumstances.

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) for students under 13. Parental consent is required, we collect only the minimum information necessary to support participation, and we take additional precautions to protect younger students' privacy and online safety.

Use the Safety Reporting form on the Contact page or email the program coordinator directly. All safety reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Suspected abuse or exploitation will be reported to the appropriate authorities. You can report concerns anonymously if preferred.

Yes. Parents may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting the program coordinator. Upon request or withdrawal from the program, student data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Progress tracking

Parents can view all grades, tutor feedback, and completed assignments in the parent portal at any time. Progress reviews are available on request. In future program phases, a detailed progress dashboard and progress reports will be added.
